Hyderabad: A new born girl was found dead and abandoned near the Roads and Buildings (R&B) guest house in Vikarabad in the early hours of Friday. Locals found the baby’s body being carried away by stray dogs and informed the police.
The baby was found in an isolated place near the guest house. A student noticed a stray dog with the baby in its mouth. “Initially he thought it was some other object but later he realised that it was a baby. The dog was shooed off and we were alerted,” said SI Ravi.
The cops rushed to the spot and the body was shifted to the government hospital for postmortem. A case was filed. Cops suspect that the parents abandoned the child.
“We are collecting information from local hospitals on recent births. It is yet to be ascertained whether the body was abandoned after the child died. The autopsy will bring out details,” the inspector said.
