Will society accept a doll with acne and stretch marks?
Mumbai: A mole, bruise or a scar often pulls down the confidence of a woman. Even though this requires maximum care, women need to accept the stretch marks and not feel awkward about their appearance.
Nikolay Lamm has designed a new doll model, Lammily, which has been crowdfunded by its buyers. The toy is a scaled model of an average 19-year-old woman, which has acne, cellulite and stretch marks on her.
Additionally, the artist has also introduced new removable and reusable stickers, Lammily Marks, which enable children to customize their doll. It allows a new sense of individuality, expression, and identity.
Some injuries and surgeries leave children with a scar that remain visible forever. It can prove to be a source of self-consciousness and discomfort. The artist mentioned on his blog that this doll could be an empathetic companion to kids and women.
Nikolay Lamm is trying his level best to make sure to explain that each one is different and wonderfully unique by this doll prototype.'Difference is something to be embraced wholeheartedly rather than shunned,' states Nikolay Lamm.
