Buzzle app for kids launched in Vizag
Smart phone app enhances interactive learning experience
Vizag: A private education company selected Vizag along with 14 other cities in the country to launch one of its coveted products, for which it has also applied for a patent.
The product which takes help of smart phones and a technology similar to QR Code to make learning an interactive experience for the digital age kids was launched in the city on Thursday.
EZ Vidya, a Chennai-based company is one of the private education agencies to partner with Central Board of Secondary Education for conducting various academic workshops.
The company had launched a while back their textbooks named as Chrysalis, with curriculum designed as per the National Curriculum Framework-2005 for primary education level students.
The new product which they launched has been named Buzzle and is a mobile application which will be used with Chrysalis textbooks having ‘Buzz links’.
The buzz links are like QR Codes and are located adjacent to various learning sections in the Chrysalis textbooks. These links have various purposes including serving as audio-visual lessons for the written text, assignments, practical lessons and home works.
These buzz links can be scanned with a smart phone having internet connection. Once the scanning is done and image is uploaded, the required content opens up. If the link is for a home work then it will be done on the smart phone itself after which the data gets recorded, which can be later checked by the teacher.
“A benefit of this is that the Buzzle application is programmed in such a way that depending on the performance of kids in the assignments, parents are given an in-depth report card of the particular areas where their child is weak and not just comments like the kid is poor in maths”, says, Ramesh Varma, head of School Partnerships, EZ Vidya.
For some assignments the students can upload their work on an online forum of Buzzle using students and can get “Hi5s” from their peers across the country. The mobile application runs smoothly on 2G networks and will be put in use from next academic year for 540 schools, adds Mr Varma.
