DC comics likely to sue Valencia CF over Batman issue

The 95-year-old La Liga club’s logo similarity with superhero invites trouble

Mumbai: Football club Valencia’s logo has raised many eyebrows in the recent past for its similarity with the mask of Batman. Surprisingly, the emblem is there since 1919 but nobody noticed.

DC comics – publisher of Batman series – have registered a complaint with the European Union Office for breaching rights and said that the insignia is only for the company.

Though there is a chance of DC comics taking legal action against Valencia but it will not be that easy. Why? Well, the club has been using the logo before Batman arrived. There is a difference of 20 years between the two – Batman came into existence in 1939.

It will be no less than a sensation if DC comics can rip apart the La Liga giants. Co-incidentally, the football team is nicknamed ‘The Bats’.
