Mumbai: Former BCCI president Shashank Manohar is not losing sleep over Indian cricket board's likely move of taking disciplinary action against the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), to which he also served as a president.
It has been reported in the media that the incumbent BCCI group suspects two former BCCI presidents, Shashank Manohar and I.S. Bindra, who no longer hold their posts in their respective state associations, have been tarnishing the Board's image and also helping Aditya Verma to take legal action against N. Srinivasan. The BCCI is also considering to stop the grant to their respective state associations.
Speaking exclusively over telephone from Nagpur, Manohar says, "Be it. If they don't want to help us anymore, we have no issue. We have enough money and are self-sufficient to run our association. Stopping financial aid will not make any difference to us. Our association will not run after them and beg for it. The game in our region won't be affected."
"We have the two best Stadiums and best-run cricket academy. We have enough money to sustain the running of our best facilities."
"The BCCI is a public property and if I have tarnished its image, let people be the judge. People know who N. Srinivasan is and they also know who Shashank Manohar is."
The former BCCI chief reiterated his earlier stand and said all IPL matches need to be probed. The Supreme Court is set to continue its hearing on IPL probe on Monday.
