Icing on Mulayam’s cake? Azam Khan says birthday bash was funded by Taliban, Dawood
Senior Samajwadi Party leader added another controversial remark to his collection

New Delhi: Senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, who is famous for his controversial remarks, raked yet another controversy by his comments on the birthday celebration of party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
According to reports, when Khan was questioned about the funding for the grand event, he said that it is ‘funded by terror group Taliban and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’.
Yadav has faced criticism over the extravagant celebrations on his 76th birthday.
A 75-feet-long cake and a Victorian ‘buggy’ hired from London are among the highlights of the grand celebrations being held in Rampur.
Khan said, "Taliban ne diya, Dawood ne diya. Saara Talibaan ka fund hai" (The Taliban gave, Dawood gave. It's all funded by the Taliban.)"
Already the BJP has questioned the Samajwadi Party and Khan's sarcastic reply is likely to add to the outrage.
Mulayam Singh Yadav will cut the 75-feet-long cake at midnight after attending a performance by popular singers Hans Raj Hans and the Sabri brothers. SP supremo will lay the foundation stone of a medical college, besides addressing a public meeting.
