Governor seeks vice chancellors' explanation on qualifications
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor P. Sathasivam has sought an explanation from the vice-chancellors of MGU and Sreesankara Sanskrit University Kalady on the complaints regarding their eligibility for continuing in their posts. The VCs have to reply within 15 days.
MG varsity VC Dr Babu Sebastian was accused of not having the eligibility to become the VC, including ten years of teaching experience in a university.
The complaint against Kalady University’s M.C. Dileep Kumar was that he was involved in a Vigilance probe and hence could not continue as the VC.
The Governor had earlier asked the views of the government on the complaints that the MGU and Sanskrit university VCs did not have the required qualifications.
This is the first time that the Governor has asked the government for a time-bound reply on the complaints relating to a VC.
