Here's how much kids cost their folks before they turn 10
London: A new survey has revealed that Brit kids cause more than 2,000 pounds worth of damage around the house by the time they reach the age of ten.
The survey by insurance firm MORE TH>N showed that the parents' main complaints include scribbles on walls, stained carpets and smashed windows, the Mirror reported.
According to the poll, 4 percent of the 2,000 mums and dads polled said their children had started a fire, while as many as half of those questioned went as far as to claim children are the "root cause" of destruction to the house.
The research further found that turbulent toddlers proved more expensive than unruly pets, severe weather and bodged D.I.Y. jobs.
A MORE TH>N spokesman said that everyone knows that children are more accident-prone than adults, but it's surprising how much damage they can cause, like, younger children playing with friends or siblings can get overexcited and clumsy, whereas the heavy-handedness of teenagers can also be a risk.
Spokesman added that the results show that repairing this damage, however small, can add up to a lot of money over time and especially when they take into account the additional wear-and-tear that a home suffers.
