'We don’t need anyone’s permission to store our share of water' - CM on Mekedatu Project
CM Siddaramaiah said state was ready to go to court in regards to Mekedatu project
Bengaluru: Insisting that there was no question of Karnataka dropping the Mekedatu project in response to protests by Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday that the state was ready to go to court if necessary.
“This is a drinking water project that does not violate any of the directions of the Cauvery tribunal. We don’t need anyone’s permission to store our share of water..we are free to use the water as we wish after releasing 192 tmc ft to Tamil Nadu,,’’ he said, on the project that will supply drinking water to Bengaluru and its surrounding towns.
