AP government to utilise Singapore, Japan services for 'world class' capital city
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government is likely to utilise the services of Singapore and Japan for the construction of its “world class” capital city. Sources said that the design and construction works will be handed over to Singapore and beautification and decoration works will be awarded to Japan.
A high-level delegation from Singapore will visit Hyderabad in January next year. The Singapore delegation will visit the capital city area to plan the construction of the capital city.
During his recent visit to Singapore, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu talked of his ideas and thoughts, on the capital city construction, with Singapore officials.
Sources said that if the AP and Singapore governments reach an agreement on construction of the capital, the Singapore government will send some construction companies to Vijayawada.
Meanwhile, the officials said that Japan has experience in beautification and decoration work and also in using latest technology. AP may hand over the underground works like laying of power lines, cables and others to Japan. The CM and his team will be visiting to Japan from November 24.
