AP govt revenue teams to meet willing farmers
Hyderabad: Land pooling for the capital city has been expedited by the Andhra Pradesh government.
The government has decided to constitute six revenue teams and one legal cell to oversee the process of land pooling. The Cabinet sub-committee on the AP capital land pooling, headed by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Wednesday, discussed land pooling and the demands made by farmers who met AP Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday night.
Addressing the farmers Mr Naidu said that the government will pool the land on a 50:50 ratio between the government and land owners.
The sub-committee was of the opinion that of 29 villages in the capital region, many villagers and farmers are ready to give their lands. Ministers have said that the government can start the process of land pooling from the farmers who are willing. The six revenue teams will meet the farmers and complete the formalities.
Agreements will be legalised under the AP Capital Region Development Authority the agreements between the landowners and CRDA will be legalized.
Meanwhile the government is in favour of issuing an ordinance on the Capital Region Development Authority Bill. Minister Mr Krishnudu said in order to introduce the capital bill in the Assembly the government has to wait till January. After issuing the ordinance CRDA will come in to force. Thereafter, CRDA will issue notifications on the boundaries of the capital city and capital region. After discussing with farmers the government will take a final decision on sharing of land between the CRDA and landowners.
Farmers, who are opposing land pooling will also meet the CM. Ministers are planning to bring some farmers, who are against giving their lands, to Hyderabad for a meeting with the CM. This responsibility has been given to TD MLA Sravan Kumar of Tadikonda in Guntur district. Ministers told him to bring a farmers’ delegation to meet the CM in Vijayawada on Thursday. But Mr Sravan Kumar felt that the farmers may create trouble when they meet the CM.
Meanwhile speaking to reporters after the sub-committee meeting Ministers Mr Ravela Kishore and Mr P. Narayana said that they will visit the capital city villages and explain to farmers and villagers about the importance of the capital. A skill development centre will be set up in the capital city area as announced by the CM.
