Aasara beneficiaries: Genuine applicants deprived

TRS government has been adopting the policy of “one pension in each family”
Hyderabad: The TRS government has been adopting the policy of “one pension in each family”. The names of lakhs of existing beneficiaries have been missing from the list of Aasara beneficiaries. This has triggered sharp protests in districts.
The genuine applicants are running from pillar to post for pensions. The plight of people aged above 65 years and PHC is even worse as they are forced to stand in long queues for hours at revenue offices to seek details over why their applications were rejected.
Unable to bear the mental agony after finding their names missing from the list of beneficiaries, several old-age applicants either committed suicide or died from shock.
Responding to these instances, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had made a statement in the House on Tuesday saying: “The process to identify beneficiaries is still going on and the government will ensure that every genuine beneficiary gets pension.
I request all applicants not to worry over their names missing from the first list. The rejected applications are being re-verified and all eligible people will get pensions.”
