Maharashtra government’s stability not NCP’s responsibility, says Sharad Pawar
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis showed no signs of anxiousness
Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis showed no signs of anxiousness after NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s statement that there could be mid-term polls in the state after six months.
The CM said that his government would complete its term of five years and legislators of Mr Pawar’s party too did not want early polls. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray clarified that his party would continue to sit in Opposition as long as the BJP does not clarify its stand on taking the NCP’s support.
Addressing party workers, Mr Pawar had said, “The BJP does not have a clear majority. The government would have been stable had the Shiv Sena and BJP come together. The Congress and NCP are not in a position to give an alternative.”
