IFFK delegate choice only 3 movies a day
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The strict norms introduced by the Kerala State Chalachithra Academy to ensure the smooth conduct of the 19th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) would not allow delegates to watch more than three movies a day.
This is the first time the organisers have introduced such a restriction to ensure effective crowd management during the festival.
With around 9,812 delegates taking part in the festival, it would not be a cakewalk for the organisers to conduct the festival, which is restricted to just four venues unlike in earlier years.
A top official of the academy told DC that the restriction on the number of movies would ensure that all delegates got the chance to watch films.
“The seats will be allotted based on the reservations made online and a delegate cannot reserve tickets for more than three movies.
We will set up counters at the venues where tickets will be distributed. If the delegate fails to turn up, seats would be allotted based on first-come first-served basis,” said the official.
The academy has roped in a European company to manage the online delegate registration and seat reservation systems.
“The company is reputed in the field and it has the expertise in managing the online facilities of huge film festival held in Europe and worldwide. The representatives of the company would come down to manage the reservation system,” said the official.
