Will go global with Kadlekai Parishe: Union Minister Ananthakumar
Minister said he will float the idea of making ‘Kadlekai Parishe’ an international affair
Bengaluru: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers H.N. Ananthakumar said he will float the idea of making ‘Kadlekai Parishe’ an international affair. At the launch of the ‘parishe’ on Monday, he said that as a Union Tourism minister he had ensured ‘Bengaluru Karaga’ procession was recognised globally and he would try to get similar identity for the parishe too.
“Bengaluru is the only city in the world to have a fair for groundnuts. None of the cities give importance to such traditional events. I will discuss this in the cabinet and specially try to promote the ‘parishe’ even at other tourist places in the country,” he said.
He added that he would hold a meeting with Union Tourism Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma and look at ways to promote ‘Kadlekai Parishe’.
“We need to give ‘parishe’ global importance and attract foreign tourists for this annual affair,” he stressed.
