Kochi: The Southern Naval Command’s Navy Fest will be held from 10 am to 5 pm from November 21 to 23, at the Naval Base here. The fest is a golden opportunity for people to see the Navy’s warships and aircraft and to understand the role played by the force in safeguarding the seas.
An inter-school quiz competition will also be held on November 20 at the Naval Base. The Southern Naval Command had organised a series of programmes for the people of Kerala and Lakshadweep from October to November in connection with Navy Day, falling on December 4.
As a precursor to the Navy week Celebrations, goodwill services were carried out in Don Bosco “Sneha Bhavan”, Fort Kochi and “Valsalya Bhavan - Home for Girls”, Vyttila, for three days from November 3.
A demonstration of naval operations will be organized at the waterfront off Rajendra Maidan/ Subhash Park on December 14. A full dress rehearsal for the same would be held on December 13. The event would be open to the public at Subhash Park while entry to Rajendra Maidan would be on invitation.
