Cyclone Hudhud rehabilataion work goes on in full swing
Vishakapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who was in Vizag, as part of rejuvenating Vizag reviewed the progress of relief and reconstruction aspects post-Hudhud.
He said an action plan would be prepared very soon for reconstruction of schools, government buildings and other properties.
He added that the central team would be visiting Vizag on November 25, 26 and 27, to assess damages caused by Hudhud and asked the officials to prepare a final detailed presentation.
He added that details of the Hudhud affected would be synchronised with Aadhaar cards and the compensation would be paid directly into their bank accounts opened by the government.
“Of the total first phase of relief Rs 1,000 crore announced by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Centre had so far released around Rs 400 crore. State government had spent close to Rs 300 crore for supply of essentials like vegetables, rice, kerosene etc during the first 10 days of Hudhud in the three districts. State government had spent few more hundreds of crores on temporary relief,” he told reporters after a review meeting with the district officials.
The CM said, he had suggested to corporate houses like Reliance who had come forward to donate to Hudhud victims and adopt villages and reconstruct them with good facilities and infrastructure and the state government would provide a matching grant.
On the insurance claims of industrial houses, he said around 900 cases are pending and they would be settled by the month end. Industry insurance claims will be reviewed again on December 1.
