Burdwan blast: NIA arrests one more in Hyderabad

Khalid Mohammad is involved in running terror camps in bordering areas of Myanmar, Bangladesh

Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Khalid Mohammed, a 28-year-old Myanmar national residing in Hyderabad in relation to the Burdwan blasts.

It is reported that Khalid, who is a trained explosive expert, is involved in running terror camps in bordering areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar and also has links with Bangladesh based terrorist groups.

It is learnt that he possessed incriminating videos of training materials, literature relating to poisons, IED making, bomb making, explosives and Jihadi literature including ISIS.

Khalid has admitted to have undergone training conducted by Tehreek-e-Azadi-Arakan with trainers from Tehreek e-Taliban –Pakistan.

Residing in Hyderabad, Khalid managed fake identity proofs and is also found to be without valid travel documents. Further investigation is in progress.

Two suspected terrorists were killed in the October 2 blast in Burdwan district of West Bengal at a Jamaat hideout which was being used a s base to make explosives to be smuggled into Bangladesh. The NIA has made significant progress into the case having arrested the Jamaat’s chief commander for the Burdwan module, Sajid.
