After the successful launch of the Ciaz and the new Alto K10, reports state that Maruti Suzuki has plans to introduce a new hatchback, which will be a massive upgrade over the Swift.
MotorOctane leaked out that the upcoming hatchback will be named as ‘Maruti Suzuki YRA’. Maruti Suzuki YRA is expected to arrive in petrol and diesel engine variants. Media reports speculate that Maruti Suzuki’s new hatchback will come with 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine options.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki YRA model will sport LED lamps where the air dam starts and its wing mirrors are placed on the waistline. According to the leaked images, Maruti Suzuki YRA’s black-coloured dashboard sports a new touchscreen display backed with smart climate control features.
At present, the Maruti is conducting several tests on the upcoming hatchback and is expected to unveil the Suzuki YRA in 2015. There is no information about the price or release date at this point.
