ISL MUM vs GOA: FC Goa keen to maintain winning run against Mumbai City FC

Mumbai City want a more attacking approach as they seek a victory on the homeground

Mumbai: Following a resounding victory over Delhi Dynamos FC, the struggling FC Goa would be looking forward to keep up their new-found winning momentum when they clash with Mumbai City FC in an Indian Super League match at the DY Patil Stadium on Monday.

Here are the top 11 of both teams.

Goa's thumping 4-1 victory over Delhi, whom they had beaten at home too earlier in the tournament, should act as a tonic when they lock horns with Mumbai who drew their previous away game against Kerala Blasters without conceding a goal in Kochi.

Considering that the two teams had featured in a goalless draw when they met in Goa, the Mumbai City would want a more attacking approach to make it an entertaining game before the home crowd.

Live Updates:

4: Mandar Rao Dessai and Andre Santos exchange passes with the former being through on goal overcoming Peter Costa. The winger shoots above the crossbar.

5: Huge relief for Goa, Nicolas Anelka snatches the ball from Gregory Arnolin but his shot goes above the crossbar.

11: Mumbai has another chance, Andre Moritz puts in a corner for Anelka who heads it for the net. Too many people crowd around the box. Jan Stohanzl chests the ball to Subhash Singh but he could not connect. Stohanzl takes the shot, but the ball goes out for a corner.

14: There seems to be some miscommunication between Subhash and Anelka. The Frenchman is probably expecting the Manipur-lad to make a run at every through ball.

18: Subhash – who was spectacular in the first home tie in Mumbai – has not been able to convert. He was all clear when Moritz passed him the ball but his shot went wide and Seda did not have to worry. There was disgust written all over coach Peter Reid’s face from the sideline.

30: Subrata Paul – the match-winner – shows sparks of a genius. Gabriel Fernandes charges down and shoots a low one tickling the custodian. The ball misses the post by a whisker.

32: Bengelloun collides with Paul and the latter goes down.

41: Ralte has a chance. Moritz is setting up every winger and forward but nobody is meeting the target. Ralte’s shot is saved by a brilliant effort from Seda.

42: Ozbey goes wide, Paul almost panicked. Chance missed for Goa.

51: Mumbai has another chance but Moritz’s shot goes into the galaxy. It was a good cross from Anelka from the right flank, Ralte mistimed the header but Moritz gathered it from there.

67: Was that a penalty? Nadong Bhutia’s shot is blocked. Moritz approaches on rebound, Amiri snatches the ball from him which looked like a rash encounter.

71: YELLOW CARD for Gregory Arnolin

73: YELLOW CARD for Pavel Cmovs who takes the ball of Ozbey in a rash challenge. Referee says it’s free kick for Goa. Even within 25 metres, Santos failed to hit the target.

81: Moritz hits the crossbar, maybe it was Mumbai's last chance.
