Vanchinadu Sahodaya CBSE fest concludes
KOLLAM: The three-day Vanchinadu Sahodaya CBSE youth festival concluded at the Oxford Central School at Karavalur here on Friday with the overall trophy being bagged by MGM Residential School Kottarakkara.
The S.N. Trust Central School and Mannam Memorial Residential School Valathunkal ended up in the second and third positions in the festival.
The students of MGM Residential School secured 611 marks to be the toppers followed by 561 and 484 marks respectively for those schools which got the second and third places.
Holy Trinity Vidyabhavan Karthikappally and Oxford Central School Karavaloor were in the fourth and fifth positions.
As many as eight stages were arranged in the school campus for the youth festival. Over 2000 students from 40 CBSE schools took part in the Sahodaya CBSE schools’ youth festival ‘Sargotsavam 2014’ organised under the Vanchinadu Sahodaya, incorporating the schools from Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha.
The Valedictory session started with the inaugural speech of N.K. Premachandran MP followed by the presidential address by K. Raju MLA.
