Sex abuse: School trying to cover up
KOZHIKODE: The management of Darul Huda English Medium School, which has come out against the police for arresting two madrassa students for the alleged sexual abuse of an LKG student, is using the ‘orphan/destitute’ tag to cover up the crime reportedly committed by the accused.
Perode Abdul Rahman Sakhafi, representative of the school management stated that the police had falsely implicated two orphans in the case and had left out the bus cleaner, who was the original accused.
However, sources told DC that both the accused had parents and were not orphans or destitutes. Mubasheer, one of the two arrested, was the son of an Imam based in Kuttiyadi and there was immense pressure on the police to save him.
“There was pressure to save this youth from the case and the cleaner was planted by those who wanted to save the original accused,” a senior police official told DC.
The Darul Huda English Medium School also has a religious learning centre adjacent to its school campus and about 58 students staying and studying there.
“There are all sorts of students studying there including orphans and those hailing from poor financial backgrounds. This centre is situated close to the LKG classroom”, the official added.
The police said the girl had identified the accused and all those who were taken into custody were questioned in her presence as well as that of her parents.
