Women’s conference in Coimbatore today

The National Women’s Front will hold a conference on women’s rights and issues
CoimbatoreThe National Women’s Front will hold a conference on women’s rights and issues in Coimbatore on Sunday in which hundreds of women from across India are expected to take part. Titled ‘Awakening’, the conference will debate issues concerning women in India.
 
On the eve of the conference, an expo on women’s rights and issues was inaugurated on Saturday by Popular Front of India state president A.S. Ismail. Graphic illustrations of domestic violence, rape, female foeticide, human trafficking and riots victims have been presented at the expo. 
 
The expo also features various prominent women personalities and activists who struggled for obtaining freedom. The battle of these brave women personalities are brought out in graphic detail to the visitors. Paintings and pictures of women who have been a part of the struggle have been showcased.
 
National Women’s Front national president Shahida Aslam, state president Raziya Banu, state vice-president Habeeb Nisa, conference general convener M. Shifa took part in the inauguration of the exhibition.
