The suspects picked up based on the information provided by the locals
BENGALURU: The police have detained five people in connection with disfiguring of the bust of Kannada matinee idol Dr Rajkumar at Bangarappa Nagar in Raja Rajeshwarinagar on Thursday.
The suspects have been identified as Mutturaja alias Lodde Raja (23), Ravikiran (23), Pradeep (22), Chethan Raj (25) a1nd Manjunath (24), all residents of Bangarappa Nagar.
Sources said that all the five were close friends of Srinivas, a member of Dr Rajkumar Seva Samiti, which had installed the bust. They were picked up based on the information provided by the locals.
The five suspects were in favour of installing a bust of actor-director Shankar Nag’s at the same spot and are being questioned about the incident.
