No red signal for Hyderabad Metro Rail

CM says project will finish on schedule
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandras-ekhar Rao said the Hyderabad Metro Rail project will begin operations as scheduled from March 2015 and denied any problems with project developer L&T.
He said L&T chairman Mr A.M. Naik will meet him on Saturday to discuss steps to be taken to speed up the project. Mr Rao dismissed allegations by Opposition parties of handing over Metro lands to private firms or individuals and made it clear that the TRS government had not touched a single inch of land belongng to Metro or allotted any fresh land and the existing land allotments were made by previous Congress government.
“Out of all the Metro projects in the country, our project has been progressing steadily. It will begin operations in the next four months. Some vested interests are trying to disrupt the project with false propaganda against the government.
Metro chairman is going to meet me on Saturday and we will sort out all the issue. There are no issues at all between us. Some minor things are being blown out of proportion," Mr Rao said.
He added that the government will place all records in the House with regard to land allotments to Metro and will expose those who are making false allegations against us. “Our member raised a question over Metro.
This will be discussed in the House soon. We will come out with all the facts,” Mr Rao said adding that the government is committed to make Hyderabad a global city on par with world class cities.
