Hyderabad: Youth quit B.Tech to rob houses, live it up
Hyderabad: The SR Nagar police, along with the Central Zone CCS team, arrested a notorious house burglar involved in more than a dozen cases. The cops recovered booty worth Rs 30 lakh from the 22-year-old accused who has been identified as Avilineni Madhan Kumar.
Police said that Madhan had discontinued his B.Tech education and had taken to crime to maintain a lavish lifestyle. He often used to fly to Bangkok and spend money there, apart from living it up in Hyderabad.
Cops also arrested Madhan’s father-in-law V. Chidananda Chary and Mirza Mommin Ali Baig, a trader, for receiving the stolen property. Another accused called Srinivas, a pawn broker, is absconding.
Madhan is a native of Bandivandla Vooru village of Chittoor in AP. According to A. Venkateshwara Rao, DCP West Zone, “Madhan conducted recces of posh residential colonies in the city and broke into them when the inmates were away.” He has been active since 2011.
