Santhosh Hegde to CM: Sack tainted ministers
Mangaluru: Former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde has come out strongly against the ‘tainted’ ministers in the Congress government and also criticized the stand of the cabinet on erring officials.
Justice Hegde who was critical about tainted ministers in the BJP government has now criticized the Congress government.“3 ministers face serious allegations. Revenue officials have also submitted a report that prima face the allegations seem to be true.
Not taking any steps against such ministers and their continuation in the cabinet is not correct,” Hegde told reporters when asked about allegations against Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao.
“A person who has done mistakes will never agree. They continue saying that they have not done mistakes even after the officials have submitted a report on land grab.
There are some people who deny doing anything wrong even after it is proved in the Supreme Court.”
“A minister who is facing allegations should take moral responsibility and resign declaring that he would not take charge until he or she comes clean.
If not then the government or party should take steps to keep such ministers out,” he said.
Hegde also expressed his unhappiness over the state cabinet being choosy in accepting Lokayukta reports on erring officials.
