More rains likely in coastline areas
Chennai: Hold on to that umbrella for the rains are not showing any sign of stopping. Incessant rains kept the city's residents on their toes for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Infact, not just Chennai but also many places along the coastline of the state received heavy rainfall.

An advisory issued on the IMD website stated that fishermen should remain cautious while venturing into seas as there was possibility of heavy winds blowing in a south-easterly direction, with maximum speed reaching upto 55 KMPH.
Forecasting for the next 24-hour period, Mr Ramanan said, “Scattered heavy to very heavy rain would occur over South Tamil Nadu. Isolated heavy to very heavy rain would occur over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.” As for Chennai, the skies would remain cloudy with a few spells of heavy rain or thundershowers occurring in some areas.
