The best birthday present ever

Vaidehi Reddy of Pune has won this year’s Doodle4Google contest
On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi extended an invitation to Pune schoolgirl Vaidehi Reddy, who won the sixth edition of Doodle4Google contest, to visit Assam as a state guest!
A doodle by Vaidehi Reddy, artfully depicting the natural and cultural richness of Assam has been featured on the Google India homepage on the occasion of Children’s Day on Friday.
Vaidehi, a Class IX student of Army Public School, was adjudged the winner of this year’s India Doodle4Google (D4G) contest in which there were more than a million entries from over 2,100 schools across 50 cities.
Vaidehi, who loves to draw and sketch, expressed her yearning to visit Assam. After winning the competition, she said, “I want to go to Assam because it is rich in both natural beauty and culture. Assam’s music and rich folk arts are also good.”
An added excitement for her is that Friday is also her birthday, “It’s a coincidence that my Doodle will be featured on Google on my birthday. I will remember this forever!” she says.
