More trouble for Maytas Hill County

Maytas had purchased the property based on bogus sale deeds

Hyderabad: The Maytas Hill County housing project owned by Satyam Ramalinga Raju’s family is facing more trouble as some people have moved the civil court claiming that they are the real owners of the land on which Hill County is located.

The Maytas group, which is already facing litigations from shareholders and consumers, now has to prove its ownership of the property.

Maytas Properties had undertaken the project on a 379-acre plot at Bachupally.

The project got into trouble after the confession of Ramalinga Raju, founder of Satyam Computer Services and Maytas Group, about fudging company accounts.

The legal heirs of the late Masood Ali Khan and another person moved the first senior civil judge court of the city claiming that the land was their ancestral property and that Maytas had purchased the property based on bogus sale deeds.

They said the lands were the subject matter of pending litigation before court and were awaiting final orders from the court.

They submitted to the court that all the vendors including, Mr K. Gyaneshwar and 80 others, who had executed the sale deeds in favour of Maytas, were not the owners of the lands and did not have any right or title to sell the lands. The petitioners urged the court to grant an injunction restraining the company from carrying out constructions or changing the nature of the subject land till the final decree is issued.

Meanwhile, the Maytas group, claimed that their rights to the property were valid and that the lands were not in the possession of the petitioners’ father, grandfather or their family members and that they had acquired rights to the property legally.
