Tamil actor Thyagarajan has bought the remake rights of Hindi film Special 26. The film will be made in all four South Indian languages with Thyagarajan directing all the versions.
According to a source close to the producer, Thyagarajan approached Ravi Teja to enact the character of Akshay Kumar in the Telugu remake.
“The actor has almost agreed to do the film and the confirmation may come in a few days. Once he confirms, then the female lead and other details will be announced,” says the source.
Interestingly, Thyagarajan has also got the rights to remake the Hindi film Queen in the four South languages, but he has put a hold on that for now and will be concentrating on Special 26.
Ravi Teja will be cast only in the Telugu version, and for the other languages, actors from the respective languages will play Akshay Kumar’s character from the original film.
