Heritage Milk contains detergent, says deputy CM T Rajaiah

A case against the company in this regard was pending in a city court

Hyderabad: With the Heritage food row rocking the Assembly on Wednesday, deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah, who also holds the portfolio for medical and health, said that the Heritage milk contained detergent. He added that a case against the company in this regard was pending in a city court.

He said that the government would initiate stringent action against 11 milk supplying firms, including Heritage, based on the outcome of the case in the court.

TD members, who strongly objected to the remarks of Dr Rajaiah, stormed the well of the House and disrupted the proceedings, forcing Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary to adjourn the House twice.

“It’s the TD members who initiated the debate on adulterated milk in the House. They sought to know what action the government took against suppliers of adulterated milk. When the government is giving a reply, the same members are obstructing it.

Yes, we have copies of orders issued by the Kerala government imposing a ban on Heritage. Why should the TD members raise a hue and cry over this issue ?” said IT minister K.T. Rama Rao in the Assembly.

‘Heritage’ fuels verbal war between TRS, TD

A day after fairly good discussions in the Assembly on the Budget, the ruling TRS and Telugu Desam members were back to verbal fights.

While TD leader A. Revanth Reddy denied all allegations brought against Heritage, the TRS leaders defended MP Kavita, saying that she had enrolled at only Nizamabad. It turned out to be a vocal battleground for the legislators of both the parties.

“Revanth Reddy, Dayakar Rao and other TD MLAs are like robots, acting on the direction of Chandrababu Naidu. They should feel ashamed for backstabbing Telangana people for the sake of Andhra Naidu,” said TRS leader Jeevan Reddy.

Replying back on Heritage issue, Mr Revanth Reddy said, “TRS MLAs don’t know the difference between milk and cows they have soda and drinks in their farmhouses.”

Heritage issues clarification

“Heritage does not use Oxytocin at all as the company does not own cows. Complete ban on Heritage in Kerala is also false. In August 2012, the Food Safety Commissioner of Kerala issued a temporary order on one variant of Heritage Milk called Padmanabha.

The order is withdrawn. On a similar false allegation, made by MLC Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, we filed a defamation suit,” Heritage Food Limited said in a note on Wednesday.
