Mumbai: Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni has been reportedly detained in Kenya along with her husband Vijay Goswami aka ‘Vicky’ at the Port Police Station in Mombasa, Kenya on charges of drug trafficking. The couple, who were arrested on Sunday last week, are still being interrogated by the Kenya police. The couple were arrested following an investigation by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Mombasa Police department.
Mamata soared to fame with Bollywood hits like Aashiq Awara, Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Baazi, China Gate and Beqabu. During her tremendous career in film industry, she shared screen space with today’s superstars like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
The FBI has now joined the operation that has so far spanned across three continents. The local papers in Kenya have already covered the news. In 2012, Mamta had married 52-year-old Vicky while he was serving his sentence in a Dubai jail. Vicky was subsequently released from the Dubai prison after his life sentence was reduced on account of his model conduct.
