Breasts, a burden? Texas woman goes under the knife
Texas: While we have heard of many women undergoing breast enlargement surgeries, a woman in Texas prefers smaller breasts.
Kerisha Mark got her 36NNN breasts reduced to a double-D cup, according to The Washington Post.
"I could not run or jump or work out at all. I was very limited in a lot of things I could do," the 40-year-old was quoted saying.
Kerisha had to hold her breasts in place with duct tape as her size had reached triple N during her 30’s. The weight of each of her breasts were almost 15 pounds, the burden of which caused her so much pain that she feared she was suffering from a brain tumour.
Kerisha had been suffering from gigantomastia, a rare condition in which breasts exceed 3% of a person's body weight, leading to pain and skin stretching.
She had been contemplating on a surgery and finally decided to go for it on her 40th birthday. The operation took about four hours.
Her plastic surgeon Dr. Franklin Rose, was quoted saying, “The breasts really hung down to her hips and were essentially like carrying around three basketballs at all times because they were so large.”
More than a month after her surgery, she said she that she was feeling much better and feeling more confident and happy with her body.
