HD Deve Gowda admits not all happy in Janata Dal (S)
Bengaluru: While acknowledging that a number of leaders seemed to be disenchanted with the party, JD(S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda however, claimed on Tuesday that everything would be sorted out once its new state president took charge on November 15.
Speaking to reporters here , Mr Gowda said he was open to talks with the party leaders who were giving statements against it to the media .
“I have been following the different statements given by our party leaders to the media. Most of them have said they are not leaving the party.
Some said that they had differences with Mr Kumaraswamy, but not with me. Once the new state president is appointed, all this will come to an end,'' he maintained.
Referring to party leader, Iqbal Ansari, who attacked the JD(S) leadership in Koppal on Monday, Mr Gowda recalled there was a time when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah (who was then with the party) had threatened to quit if Mr Ansari was made a minister in his cabinet. “
Mr Horatti has complained that unilateral decisions are being taken by the party leadership, but to me he said something else,'' he added.
When asked about the future of these leaders, Mr Gowda said they had to decide whether they wanted to build the party or not. “If they want to build the party, they should directly talk to me and get on with the job,'' he added.
Meanwhile, Mr Gowda is not giving anything away on who the new state party president will be. While at first he offered the job to Ms Poornima Krishnappa, daughter of former JD(S) president, A Krishnappa, he gave up the idea after she turned it down.
