Centre asks Mamata Banerjee for report on NIA blast

NIA has been camping at the CRPF camp in Salt Lake area
New Delhi: Mounting pressure on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Centre on Tuesday sought a report on the blast outside NIA camp office in Kolkata where the sleuths are probing the October 2 Burdwan blast.
The Central agency impressed upon the state police to probe Monday’s blast very seriously as it may have a link to the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) terror outfit which was behind the Burdwan blast. Sources said the blast might be a handiwork of JMB sympathisers.
The NIA has been camping at the CRPF camp in Salt Lake area where the Burdwan accused are being questioned. While the state police has shown alacrity in arresting some of the key accused in the case, the blast may turn out to be a fresh irritant.
