Three years and counting

Actor Ankit Gera admits that working in the same show can get monotonous
Mumbai: Ankit Gera who has been essaying the role of Mayank in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke for over three years, admits that it does get a little repetitive at times. “Yes, it does get monotonous but then one’s got to enjoy what he or she does. But over the past three years, there have been good changes to keep the audiences engaged. Also, we’ve been shooting a lot outdoors these days due to the time leap and that throws up interesting experiences every day,” he says.
The schedules don’t cease to be any less hectic, however. “Whatever leisure time I get, I spend it relaxing. My days are a loop of sleeping-shooting-sleeping. There’s no time for anything at all,” he says.
Talking about what it takes to sustain in the industry, Ankit says, “What works is either your looks or your acting, but above all, luck.”
Would he be ready to take on a show such as Bigg Boss? “Sure, why not? It’d be ideal for a time when I am not doing a big show. I’d also want to try my luck on the big screen, but for now I want to just go with the flow,” he says.
