Kill Dil promotions whitewashed literally

Despite seeking required permission, the BMC workers played party poopers

The cast of Kill Dil was in for a shock after BMC workers wiped off their artistic paintings that they had made on the streets of Mumbai.

Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Ali Zafar, who had stepped out on a scorching afternoon to display their masterstrokes and add their artistic touch to the city, were not very pleased to see their creations literally whitewashed by a group of officials, soon after they were painted. “Ali is a better painter than me. I genuinely liked the vibrant colors on the walls of the city, it symbolises joy and happiness,” said Ranveer.

But looks like the BMC officials had a different take. Despite seeking the required permission to publicise the film in that manner, the BMC workers played party poopers.

“There was no urgency to whitewash the walls. If big actors have taken time out to promote their films on a public platform like that, one must appreciate and respect that,” says a unit member.

Apparently, it was Ali Zafar who was saddened by the turn of events. He said, “I wish they had retained the paintings for a few days. This was a chance to show people that there is yet another facet to an actor.”
