Film-maker Ravi Chopra passes away due to lung ailment

The 'Baghban' director had been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital a few days ago

Mumbai: Filmmaker Ravi Chopra passed away in Mumbai today. The 'Baghban' director was 68-years-old and had been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital a few days ago.

Mr Chopra hails from the illustrious Bollywood Chopra family. His father was director and producer B R Chopra and his uncle was filmmaker Yash Chopra. Yash Raj scions Aditya and Uday Chopra are Ravi Chopra's cousins who head Yash Raj Films.
Ravi Chopra, had been previously hospitalized with a lung ailment in 2012 but had recovered quickyly. Chopra is known to have directed movies like The Burning Train, Baaghban and Babul. He also directed hit TV serial Mahabharata which was produced by his father.Chopra had produced fantasy films Bhoothnath and Bhoothnath Returns, starring Amitabh Bachchan.
According to reports, the funeral will be held tommorow morning. We offer our condolenses to his family and loved ones.
