IT giants to witness Kerala’s infrastructure at ICT meet

The main objective of the event is discussions e-governance
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a major fillip for the State’s IT sector, the tenth edition of eIndia, an annual ICT event attended by top leaders of the industry, will be held here from November 14 to 16.
It’s for the first time that the event is being held in Kerala and the State hopes to cash in on the participation of senior officials of leading IT companies like Microsoft and HP.
“Apart from serious discussions on e-governance, the event would be an
ideal opportunity for the State to showcase its IT infrastructure and strengths before the leaders”, said Kerala State IT Mission Director K.Mohammed Y. Safirulla.
The State IT Department is co-hosting the event along with Elets Technomedia at Hotel Leela in Kovalam. Ministers and officials from neighbouring states, senior officials of the Union Department of Electronics and IT, representatives of bodies like NASSCOM and key officials of leading companies would be attending the three-day event.
The main objective of the event is discussions e-governance. Kerala being a state that leads in e-governance initiatives, it could showcase its achievements at the event.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the event and IT Minister P.K.Kunhalikutty and other top officials of the State IT Department will take part in discussions. eIndia annual awards will be announced during the valedictory session of the event.
