Arun Jailtey flays Congress for questioning Sujana record
Congress accused govt of inducting “tainted” ministers
New Delhi: The Congress on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his recent Cabinet expansion, accusing him of inducting “tainted” ministers in the government.
AICC general secretary Ajai Maken sought the resignation of newly-inducted minister, Telugu Desam’s Y.S. Chowdary, citing bank documents that claimed that his firm had defaulted on repayment of Rs 317.6 crore of loans with Central Bank of India.
Finance minister Arun Jaitley rejected the Congress’ charges saying that the Prime Minister had chosen his team after “checking the credentials and facts”.
Describing the Congress charge as “baseless”, he turned the tables saying that unlike the UPA, in the NDA, the PM had the “last word” in selecting his ministers.
