Woman stripped, paraded in Rajasthan
Jaipur: A woman in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan was stripped and paraded on a donkey by villagers as her family alleged that she had killed her nephew. Police has registered an FIR and claim to have arrested 30 people in this regard.
A week before the incident took place, 45-year-old man, a Vardi Singh, had died under mysterious circumstances.
His family held the funeral, but three days later, his wife Sunder Bai and a villager Sun-der Singh along with some relatives went to the police alleging that Vardi Singh had been killed by his aunt.
On Saturday night, the family approached the village council which agreed that the aunt was guilty of murder. On the council’s order, the wom-an’s head was shaved and her face was blackened with coal dust. She was stripped off in the middle of the village and taken around the village on a donkey.
“People who called the panchayat have been named in the FIR,” police said.
