Mumbai: Rituparno Ghosh made Chokher Bali with Aishwariya Rai and the world fell in Love with her mesmerizing beauty in the film, and now Anurag Basu is all set to create the same magic on screen with ace actress Radhika Apte but this time for small screen.

Radhika will be seen playing the role of Binodini which was played by Aishwariya Ray in the film.

“In Chokher Bali, I play the character of the young widow Binodini, who is very unjustly treated by the society and ends up in seclusion and loneliness. Extremely hurt, envious and revengeful, she attempts to destroy the life of the person she thinks responsible. Inspite of her negative intentions, she comes across as very intelligent, wise and noble person and can never be hated for her vulnerability.”

Being a huge fan of Anurag Basu and Aishwariya rai, Anurag Basu’s latest muse Radhika Apte was super excited when she was offered the role. Not only she gets to play the role of her favourite actress, but her dream director is directing her as well.

“It was an absolute treat to work with Anurag Basu. It has been one of the most enriching experiences. He has a supreme capacity to bring out the emotional journey of the character through the actor. And he does that very gently. Being an excellent cinematographer, he has also made us look wonderful!! I think its splendid that one will get to see some historically essential literature presented on Epic. “

Anurag Basu who is known to get the best out of his actors. It would be great to see how Radhika portrays the character of Binodini through Anurag’s eyes.
