Centre plans to divest AAI, Pawan Hans; Air India next
AAI and Pawan Hans are to be listed in stock exchange
New Delhi: In a key move, the Narendra Modi government decided to disinvest a part of its stake in the Airports Authority of India and Pawan Hans Ltd, and indicated it is considering suggestions for Air India’s management by a separate professional body and even privatisation.
Civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday unveiled the draft aviation policy, that said: “The Airports Authority of India will be corporatised, followed by listing in stock exchanges, to improve efficiency and transparency. Pawan Hans Ltd will be listed on the stock exchanges with the same objective.”
Civil aviation ministry sources said if Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Pawan Hans are listed, it automatically means some shares will be disinvested.
