The price you pay for Rs 100 crore
Difference of opinion or clash of egos? The debate has just begun
Mumbai: Fresh from the success of Mary Kom, PC has been vocal about not taking credit for the success of Krrish 3 and the Don series. “Yes, they were big films that did humongous business. I’m happy to be a part of the so-called Rs 100 crore film club, but it’s Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan respectively who were the reason behind the success of those films,” says PC.
The films that Priyanka takes credit for is Mary Kom and Barfi where she played author back roles. Clearly hinting at her rivals, PC has said that actresses shouldn’t take credit for the success of the films where their roles are not at par with their male counterparts.
After the success of Jab We Met, Kareena Kapoor has not had a major hit in a film where she has played a central female character. While her rival actresses have been basking in the glory of the success of “their” hit films, Kareena refuses to accept their definition of success.
The actress says that she takes immense pride playing the quintessential heroine in male dominated films like the Golmaal series, Bodyguard and her last release Singham Returns.
Kareena’s opinion seems poles apart from PC’s. She says, “I’ve no qualms if my leading man has a better role than me. So as long as the film works for the producers and me, I’ve no reason to complain. If actors get slammed after their film flops, why can’t they celebrate when they’re a part of a hit film?” says Kareena.
