VIPs bought land on capital periphery: YSRC
Hyderabad: The YSRC has alleged that the state government was trying to seize fertile lands against the will of the farmers to benefit a section of TD leaders, who have purchased large quantities of land and are awaiting a real estate boom.
YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu on Saturday said farmers are worried about losing their livelihood.
He said that there were reports that TD MPs, MLAs and others had purchased large tracts of land and ensured that it does not come into the capital city framework, while gullible farmers were being forced to sell their fertile lands.
He said the farmers of the 17 villages had swallowed the bitter pill because of the loan waiver promise, even though they were not fully convinced that Mr Naidu will compensate them as per his promise.
“We will be with the farmers to safeguard their interests and if majority of the people are not willing, the state cannot go for land pooling,” he said,
He said the TD had been propagating that certain parties are against constructing the capital between Krishna and Guntur districts and instead want land for capital to be arranged out of the forest area and said the allegations were false.
