Tadikonda not part of Andhra Pradesh capital now
Hyderabad: For the construction on the rectangular capital area, it has been decided that only empty lands will be taken for pooling.
The capital area on the riverfront side starts from Borupalem of Tullur mandal in Guntur district and ends at Prakasam Barrage to a length of 18 km along the Krishna River where key establishments will come up.
The other side of the rectangle starts at Prakasam Barrage and ends at Mangaligiri Autonagar Y Junction where the Old Madras Trunk Road meets the eight-lane NH9 at a stretch of 10.5 km.
The third side from Borupalem on the proposed Inner Ring Road ends at a point on the Inner Ring Road near Anantavaram at a stretch 8 km. From there the fourth side boundary starts on Inner Ring Road and ends at Autonagar Y Junction in Mangalgiri.
Municipal administration minister P. Narayana said, “The government declared boundaries to send a message that all the empty lands within these boundaries that make up 30,000 acres of land will be part of land pooling.”
He added, “The 200 metres from the riverfront will be left and no construction will come up as per norms. The Chief Minister wants six to eight-lane roads to come up within the capital.”
Tadikonda mandal will not be part of the proposed capital area for now. The AP government is also working on plans to store at least three tmc of water for the requirement of the capital.
“Even flood water will be enough if we can manage to store it,” said Mr Narayana.
