Medak ready to home industries
12,365 acres of land in 17 villages of Medak district suitable for setting up industries
Hyderabad: Medak district, home to a horde of industries, is set to get busier. The district administration has identified over 12,365 acres of land in 17 villages of Medak district as suitable for setting up industry.
The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation is in the process of establishing a Foundry Cluster Park, which could attract investments to the tune of Rs 300 crore. The proposed park is likely to come up on 170 acres land in Nawabpet village of Shivampet mandal of Medak district.
“Land alienation has been done and we are waiting for the orders,” said a source. The orders may come through after the ongoing Assembly session. Members of Bhagyanagar Foundries Association under whose aegis this park will come up said it will house 50 units.
Another 5,000 acres has been identified in Medak district for the Pharma City, located beyond the Outer Ring Road, where the existing industries in the sector would move. The TSIIC has already arranged for internal roads and water pipelines, and electricity works are in the process.
“The land parcels suitable for industrial purposes were identified based on availability of water and power. The CM also announced that 10 per cent of water from the proposed Water Grid would be allocated for industrial purposes,” said an official.
Funds for creating infrastructure would be released under Industrial Infrastructure Development Fund. Generally, the state government releases Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore a year. But the CM assured a sanction of about Rs 100 crore under IIDF, added the source.
