Bring my daughter’s killers before me: Bengaluru Rape Case

FSL confirmed to DC on Friday that the handwriting on the note matched the dead child’s

Bengaluru: It’s taken him ten days to gather up the courage to face the press here in the capital, but the small town grocer from Tirthahalli, is determined to get justice for the beloved daughter whom he considered his “lucky charm.”

Krishnamurthy, father of the 14-year-old who died mysteriously in Tirthahalli in Shivamogga on October 31 said: “I want the police to arrest the three people who are responsible for my daughter's death.

The police should produce them before me. I am not under any political pressure. All I want is justice. It’s been ten days since I lost my daughter and the police have failed to arrest the culprits.”

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Saturday evening, Krishnamurhty was unequivocal that the so-called death note found by the police was not written by his daughter.

The Forensic Science Laboratory ( FSL) confirmed to Deccan Chronicle on Friday that the handwriting on the note matched the dead child’s.

“My daughter was a brave girl and I don’t believe that she committed suicide. She was good at studies and she had no reason to end her life or write an apology. She has not written the death note. I am sure that it is not her handwriting and she never used red ink.

Also, the name of my second daughter Nidhi is mentioned in the note, but it is scored off and it is written as 'daughter'.

The style of the handwriting is different, its not how Nxxxxx wrote. All these facts make it obvious that she has not written it," he said firmly.

Recounting the sequence of events on the day she died, he said Nxxxxxx was harassed by tree young men including a boy named Suhan, ho was Nxxxxxx's classmate's brother.

"They kidnapped her while she was waiting for the school bus. They took her in a car to a hill, where they gave her some poison and pushed her down.

An old lady there found my daughter and after sometime I was informed about it. I rushed to the spot and while going home in the car I asked my daughter what had happened.

She was in no condition to talk. On reaching home, I asked my wife to talk to her and after some time, my wife recounted the horrific story of the kidnap and how they had forcibly made her consume something," Krishnamurthy said.

"The only mistake I did was that I did not report the matter to the police immediately," he said.

Speaking out in defence of his child, he said "My daughter was very disciplined and she did not have any affair. But it is clear that the three abductors 'tortured' her, as Nxxxxxx has told my wife about it.

I am here to clarify that my daughter was not raped but 'tortured'," he said. "I was not happy with the way the Tirthahalli police havce carried out the probe but I hope the CID investigation will be impartial and we will get justice," he said.

He said that he was in the city to meet the Chief Minister and seek his intervention in the case. "I will try to meet the CM. If not, I will submit a memorandum to him, seeking fair and impartial probe into the case."

Claiming that he had not seen the FIR or the post mortem report, Krishnamurthy said that he was not an educated man and does not understand the legalities involved in the case.
