Bodo militants kidnap Telugu contractor in Assam
The militants have let off contractors colleague half an hour after abduction

Hyderabad: Bodo militants allegedly kidnapped a Telugu sub contractor at Langtin area in Assam on Sunday early morning. 50-year-old P. Maheswar Reddy was on his way to work place on a two wheeler with his colleague when a gang of six militants stopped them on the road. Victim's wife Ms P Subadrama said that the militants have not made any demands so far. Both AP and TS government officials have contacted their counterparts in Assam regarding the issue.
The militants have let off his colleague Mr. Bhargav after half an hour of abduction. He has informed Mr Reddy's family members in Hyderabad.
Maheshwar Reddy, who was an employee in infrastructure company ICFL, has been working in Assam for the last two years and has been supervising the road construction work there, his relatives said.
According to his wife, he and his colleague Mr. Bhargav had started from their guest house located at Lumding after 5 am. "His colleague told us that, while they were about to reach their work place at around 5.30 , in a village named Hathikali, a group of militants confronted them and took them inside forest," she said.
Since there were no signals on his phone, Mr Bhargav only could contact victim's family after 10 am.
The family members informed government officials and local police. The principal secretaries of both government have contacted Assam government and sought action.
"The governments of AP and TS have been responding positively. We are hopeful that he will be released soon" said Mr. P Aravind Reddy, nephew of victim.
Maheshwar Reddy, who hails from Raichur of Kadappa, has been living with his family in Gachibowli of Hyderabad. His son Machunath Reddy is pursuing MBA in London while his daughter Nishita is married and living in Hyderabad.
